Hymn to Life
The more I stop to observe the details of everything around me that is natural, the more my heart expands with a feeling of almost childlike wonder. For many years I was so busy living and making things happen that I lost contact with the beauty and perfection of the natural world, and since I have returned to living more slowly I have begun to see so many details that fill me with joy and admiration.
During the summer months I am very lucky to mostly live in the open air and to be able to observe the natural world up close. The variety of life forms that surround us is truly incredible, and each has its own specific characteristics and its own dynamics of manifestation. Everything coexists in natural balance if we, humans, do not intrude to alter anything.
Life knows what to do and how to do it independent of us.
This seems like a banal thought. But if we look at all the imbalances we are coexisting with, we cannot help but see that the responsibility for most of them lies in our ignorance, presumption and limited understanding. The very moment we arrogated to ourselves the right to feel superior to other forms of life, we began to mess around and create distortions that have pushed us to the precipice we are now standing on. Evil is nothing but the consequence of a distorted perception of our place in the masterpiece of life. The civilisations that have been in harmony with nature and have always respected its forms of manifestation, like the indigenous people of every continent, have always known that.
Life knows what to do and how to do it independent of us.
And the moment it is necessary to return to balance, natural mechanisms of destruction and transformation are triggered that reallocate energy in a more efficient and balanced way. Life proceeds continuously with cycles of death and rebirth, destruction and creation. What is healthy and aligned survives; the rest disappears and is reborn in new forms. And it is not the fittest who survive, but those who are in harmony and balance with the state of that reality.
We should really reflect on what is becoming normalised. It is normal to genetically modify, it is normal to clone, it is normal to procreate outside a maternal womb, it is normal to create hybrids of every species… Those who have not yet realised there is a harmony and perfection that goes far beyond our human perceptions are messing dangerously with a level of cosmic balance that will naturally trigger movements that will bring our physical reality back to the point of balance.
“The meek will inherit the Earth”. Jesus himself anticipated this more than 2,000 years ago. The meek are nothing but people in balance and harmony with the rest of life, those who have understood that everything is one and one is everything and therefore it is absolutely impossible to ignore that every human choice has an impact on everything and necessarily generates consequences that must be rebalanced.
There are “not so common” words to which we should give back power and impact; among these the words “respect" and “humility” immediately come to mind. When you slow down to observe nature, these words immediately surface in your consciousness, because not even in your wildest and most creative dreams you could imagine the complexity of a fly's eye or the organisation and resilience of an anthill.
Life has a beauty, a complexity and a perfection that we can only skim with our small human imagination, but which can fully resonate with our soul.
